JUSTIN BIEBER

Justin Bieber...a soul-singing pop super star. One listen is all it takes to realize that he is light years ahead of most pop icons. In 2007, Justin posted home-made videos on YouTube. His main focus was on Usher, Ne-Yo and others like Stevie Wonder. Singing along with the music, he would add his own little touches. Justin's videos sky-rocketed to over 10,000,000, just by word of mouth alone.

Justin grew up an only child in Stratford, Ontario. His love of singing only began about four years ago. He entered a Canadian singing competition called the Stratford Idol. Here was this little 12 year old kid, entering a competition, where all the competitors had been taking singing and vocal lessons for years and who had vocal coaches. Justin said he hadn't taken singing seriously yet and was only singing around the house. But he came in second place of the competition despite it all.

Justin became so excited about his win, that he wanted to share it with his friends and family, so he began posting his performances YouTube. As luck would have it, other people online started watching his videos, too and started subscribing to them. In actuality, that's how his manager found him, by watching YouTube and he contacted Justin's family. And that's how he got contracted.

About six or seven months after he started posting his video's, Scooter Braun, a former So So Def marketing manager, contacted 13 year old Justin and flew him to Atlanta, Georgia. Justin not only was a natural at singing ability, but he also was self-taught at playing piano, guitar, trumpet, and drums. Justin was a big hit with all the big wigs. After the meeting there, Justin was being taken to the studio and as they pulled into the parking lot, there was his idol, Usher. Justin was thrilled to be able to tell Usher in person how much he loved his music.

Usher began looking at Justin's video's after Justin flew back to Canada. Usher knew that Justin had what it took to be a superstar and had Justin flown back to Atlanta a week later. Justin sang for Usher and his crew and was asked to sign on right then and there, but Justin had a meeting set up with Justin Timberlake, who also wanted to sign him on. As it turned out, Usher's deal was much better than Justin Timberlake's.

Justin signed with Island Records, October 2008. "My World", was his debut album. The songs on it were mostly about teen romance and coming of age.Justin worked with production stars like Midi Mafia, The Dream, Usher, and Tricky Stewart. The album sold 137,000 copies in it's first week out. It debut as #1 on the Canadian Albums Chart and went Gold in a week. It was certified Platinum less than a month later. The album made Gold in America about two months later, then went Platinum.

His first single, “One Time” was produced by Tricky and was about puppy love. Usher joined Justin on “First Dance”. Midi-Mafia produced “Down to Earth”, which is about growing up. “Bigger” is a bit of a motivational song to encourage his listeners to reach for their goals in life.

Justin says his goal is to be as positive an influence for others that he can be. His message is that you can do anything if you just put your mind to it. He grew up on the poorer side of poverty, he didn't have as much as other people. Justin believes it made him a stronger person and helped built his character. Now his grades are at a 4.0 GPA and is looking forward to going to college.

Justin is a solid music force and will be for a very long time. He knows he will grow as an artist and his fan base will continue to grow with him. Older people can appreciate his music as well because he shows true heart when he sings and it's not all bubblegum pop. Justin loves having fans from elementary school to adult.

JONAH C. GEIDEMAN : BLOGGERBALL SPORTS

Jonah Carroll Geideman is a new, up and coming rookie sports writer, who puts it out there. His articles are not only serious and informative, but have a slight comical twist. His web page is called " Bloggerball Sports" and he covers many sporting events including professional, high school, women and men. He writes from his home and balances his hobby well along with his daily life. I know this well, as I am not only his biggest fan, but I am his wife.

Jonah came into this world on April 16, 1973. He was born in Sonoma, California. When he was 3 years old, they moved to Cleveland, Ohio to be nearer his mothers family. By the time he reached almost 5 years, they had moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended kindergarten though 3rd grade in public school. Jonah attended the SCPA(School for Creative and Preforming Arts), located on Sycamore Street in Cincinnati. He was there from 4th through 6th grade. He took courses in art, writing, drama, and music. Jonah then went to Aikens High School, which is the largest school campus in Ohio. His graduating class was in 1992.

Sometime in 1996, Jonah started a record label called "Hollow Point Records". The name was chosen as a dedication to his favorite recording artist, John Lennon, who was shot and killed with a hollow point bullet. Jonah is a big fan of hip hop and he fancied being an emcee and writing lyrics. He has a gift for rap and can flow when a nice beat is available. In 2001, he and his fellow rappers put out a CD titled " Wars with Bubble Coats" and in 2002, another CD called " Hollow Point All Up in Your Beats". Both were available in stores and via the internet.

In 2002, Jonah left Cincinnati for personal reasons. He traveled North to Port Clinton for a few months then he settled in Cleveland. In 2003, he met me and we were married in 2004.
He has always had a heart for sports and cat-fishing, which he is very good at. He attended many Cincinnati Reds games,Indians games here, Cavalier games, and has attended the Browns Camp in Berea to watch practices and is a die hard Browns fan. His second team is the Bengals and his baseball teams are the NY Yankees and the Cincinnati Reds. He is a pure Celtics backer. When asked what his secret is to writing a consistently entertaining, educational, and informative page, Jonah replied, " It's no secret...If you call now it's available for you at the low price of $39.99...just kidding." His love for sports and his knack for the stats and following the players, makes this rookie sports writer one to watch.

Go to : http://bloggerballsports.blogspot.com and start enjoying sports again.

THE INTERVIEW

1) Where did your interests lie before you started writing your sports blog?
*Hip Hop Emcee

2) When did you develop your love for sports?
*As a kid, that's all "we" did, meaning the neighborhood youth.Everything was
sports, trading cards, wiffle ball in the streets, wrestling, and flag football
no matter what the weather...rain, sleet, snow.

3) What made you decide to go into sports writing?
*My passion to have my sport views shared. When I drank, I shared my views at
bars. Now that I don't drink, I share my views through my writing.

4) On the average, how much time do you invest into your research and writing?
*24-7...text = PC = ESPN =the paper =people in the public. All day, everyday.

5) Have you ever experienced writers block?
*I don't know how to answer this question...I must have answer block.

6) Have you ever received flak from anyone you have written about? If so why?
*Not yet...however there was an incident with a picture but I corrected it. It
wasn't a big deal.

7) Who are the most interesting people/sports that you write about?
*Pat Venditte the switch pitcher who throws L/R and Eri Yoshida, the crazy knuckle-
ball pitcher drafted by the pros and the LFL, it's fresh, interesting and real.

8) Why did you choose this particular person?
*Switch pitching is like finding a $100 bill...it happens, but not that often. The
Oriental female Knuckle ball queen...come on. She just turned 18 and already has
played 2 years pro and now an American pro. How awesome!

9) Do you have a dream interview?
*Rondo from the Celtics. There's so much we don't know about him. I know he roller-
skates...but no, he's a mysterious leader.

10) In your opinion, name the most common misconceptions fans have about sports
figures/teams.
*This is easy. Most fans don't realize that a pro sport team is before anything
else, it is "a business". And I feel the suits should have trading cards, too.

11) Who stands out in your mind as an athlete who will never be replaced, who was
superior at what they did & who made the biggest impact on sports.
*Pete Rose, definitely. He was the greatest hitter ever. A bet banned Pete for
life. Sad. He never killed anyone, you know what I'm saying? OJ? Come on.

12) Which teams, in your opinion, are the best and worse?
*NBA = The Nets but watch out with the hiring of the new Russian owner.
NFL = The Browns but I got to give Holmgren a shot.
MLB = Idiots of Cleveland = Fire Wedge? He beat Torre's Yanks in the play-offs
so you fire him?

13) If you could pick any player in the NBA, NFL, or any other sport, who impressed
you most?
*Josh Cribbs = He has poise on and off the field...a class "A" act.
Mardy Gilyard = He has determination, hard work ethics and total heart for what
he does.
You know Ainge did a great thing here...The future of the Celtics team
is with Rondo. No better choice...Cleveland keep your "king"...We have our
own with RINGS.
Prince Fielder = You could build a franchise around him. He's very knowledgeable.

14) If it were your time to write one final article, what or who would it be and why?
Shawn Kemp. In the time when Jordan was everyone's idol, I was into my own with
Kemp. THE REIGN MAN. Then George Carl broke up the Sonics which sent my man,
Kemp, to Cleveland. Flat-line. Kemp's NBA career died...why Kemp why?

GOLDFRAPP

Alison Goldfrapp began her musical career in the early 1990's as a guest vocalist with the electronic band, Orbital and Tricky, a trip-hop artist. She meet Will Gregory in 1999. He invited her to prepare and record a demo for a film soundtrack he was composing. The demo never got completed but Alison and Will found they worked well together. After months of talking, they formed the band Goldfrapp, using Alison's last name. In August of 1999, they signed a recording contract with Mute records.

Goldfrapp is considered an electronic band even though their style has changed numerous times. Their music is characterized by Alison's soft, breathy vocals and Will's multi-layered synthesizer and string arrangements. They have a passion for haunting melody, experimented with electronic sound and had a great appreciation of cinematic sound. They have forged a distinctive and erotic sound. Their music is dark and combines sounds from new and old music. You feel the their passion, fears, obsessions, and desires. They use sex-glam, with a twist of love and lonliness and a dash of shock value. Goldfrapp's sound is beautiful and sincere while it can be haunting and dark at the same time. Sex, subversion, style, humor, and lyrics are pop music's greatest components. And Goldfrapp knows how to make it work. They played throughout Europe and have received top 40 status in Germany. In the U.S., the band played sold-out audiences in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Montreal.
Goldfrapp's debut album, " Felt Mountain", was released in September of 2000. It featured Alison's synthesized vocal's over cinematic sound-scapes. It reached number fifty-seven on the UK charts. To promote their album, Goldfrapp toured the UK, Europe and the U.S. with alternative bands, Nick and the Bad Seeds and the Doves. Their second album, " Black Cherry", was released in April 2003. This album focused more on dance music and glam-rock. "Black Cherry" hit number nineteen in the UK but it hit number four on Billboard in the U.S. and went platinum. Their third album, " Supernature", was released in 2005. In 2006, Goldfrapp released, " We Are Glitter", a compilation of remixes from " Supernature". This was a U.S. only release. Their fourth album was "Seventh Tree", released at the end of 2008. In March 2010 they released their fifth album, " Head First".

GOLDFRAPP : JUST ANNOUNCED...TOUR COMING TO U.S.

RONNIE JAMES DIO

Ronnie James Dio, the epiphany of Metal music has died at the age of 67. Dio had announced last summer after finishing his tour in Atlantic City, New Jersey that he was battling stomach cancer. He was touring with the incarnation of Black Sabbath called Heaven and Hell. Dio whose soaring vocals, poetic lyrics and mythic tales of a never-ending struggle between good and evil broke new ground in heavy metal. In addition to his wife, Ronnie is survived by son Daniel, grandchildren Julie and Joey, and father Pat. Wendy Dio said that friends and family were able to say their goodbyes to her husband, and asked for the family to have a bit of privacy. She concluded by saying, "Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever."

Ronnie was born July 10, 1942 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. His birth name was Ronald James Padavona. He was an only child and was raised as Catholic. His musical career in began in 1957. He was a musical legend in Heavy metal, hard rock, and blues-rock. He was not only a singer but also producer as well as wrote music. Dio had been a member of the following bands: The Vegas Kings who were also called Ronnie & The Rumblers or Ronnie And The Red Caps, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio, and Heaven & Hell. Dio is credited with popularizing the devil's horns hand gesture.

Dio was multi-talented and could sing and play four instruments: bass, guitar, keyboards and the trumpet. He even recorded several singles when he was young playing his trumpet. He rose to fame in 1975 as the first lead singer of Rainbow, the heavy metal band put together by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, who had just quit Deep Purple.Dio then replaced legendary vocalist Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath in 1980 with the highly acclaimed album "Heaven & Hell," considered by many critics to be one of the finest heavy-metal albums of all time. His on-again, off-again relationship with Black Sabbath caused a huge debate among fans as to which singer was the true essence of the band — a discussion that lasted until his death.

Dio had a successful solo career with his band, Dio, in between his three stints with Black Sabbath in 1980-82,1992, and 2007-2009. Dio was inducted into the Rock Walk of Fame in Hollywood in 2007.

Many of his most memorable songs revolved around the struggle between good and evil, including his signature tune "Heaven & Hell." He drew heavily on medieval imagery in songs like "Neon Knights," "Killing The Dragon" and "Stargazer." His solo hits included "Rainbow In The Dark," "The Last In Line" and "Holy Diver."

"He possessed one of the greatest voices in all of heavy metal, and had a heart to match it," said Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French, whose band had toured with Dio since 1983, and was to do so again this summer at European rock festivals. "He was the nicest, classiest person you would ever want to meet." Ronnie organized an all-star charity event in 1986 called "Hear N Aid" to raise money for famine relief in Africa.
